FIRST Tech Challenge students learn to think like engineers. The teams are up to 15 members within grades 7-12, challenged to design, build, program, and operate robots to compete in an alliance format against other teams. The robot kit is reusable and can be coded using a variety of levels of Java-based programming. The students are guided by adult coaches and mentors to develop STEM skills and practice engineering principles, while realizing the value of hard work, innovation, and teamwork.
This Emerging Ladies Academy team is the first all-black female team in Nebraska state. Teams design and build robots, raise funds, design and market their team brand, and do community outreach to earn specific awards. Participants are eligible to apply for $80M+ in college scholarships.
The ELA team still seek volunteers and donors for the program. Your contribution is crucial and greatly appreciated. Thank you for your generosity!
